November Register Rewards Deals

Register Rewards are "CASH" for Walgreens only. Think of it as in-store credit. You get Register Rewards when you purchase certain items. Those rewards are for a set amount. In this case, it is for the amount you pay out of pocket.

Example: Last month Vaseline lotion was $6.99. I bought it and got back $7 of "in-store credit" by way of register rewards. (They will print out AFTER your receipt so don't dash off). The downfall is that you have to use them by a certain date. DO NOT let them expire.

Go here to see this months deals. Even if it is not advertised in the store, you will still get the Register Rewards at checkout.

Coupons... where to get them

Many many places have coupons. A common request I get is how to find coupons that I will use. Meaning, I don't eat junk food so how can I get coupons for for my all-natural-made-local-from-scratch-organic energy bar? :)

The number one best way is to write (read email since no one actually uses stamps anymore) that favorite company of yours and tell them about their product. EVERY time I have done that, I have gotten coupons in the mail. Example. I LOVE Marzetti Caramel Dip. So I just got online and in 3 minutes filled out my info and just told them what a life saver they were at Halloween. Yesterday, to my surprise, I was sent a coupon for FREE Caramel Dip.

It takes 3 minutes or less. Anytime I have been less than satisfied with a product, like Pampers, I wrote (again, read email) them and I got a $5 off coupons. SURPRISE!

Now we take our walks around the mailbox every day just to see what fun things will be coming.

I get coupons from the Sunday paper. I go to the Dollar Store or to King Dollar every Saturday and get 4 papers for myself. I subscribe to one that comes to make sure that even if we are gone, I won't miss out on my coupons.

Now, here are other places to get online coupons.

Did I leave any out?

CVS and Walgreens Deals

I am still in transition. So visit Shellie for this weeks deals on Walgreens and CVS

Menu Monday

Planning. When it comes to, well, anything, having a plan in mind will make things a LOT easier. Every Sunday night I plan. I plan out our meals and who has date night and everything in between. Sometimes we don't follow the plan but it feels nice having one.

With food storage and meal planning, a plan is needed. A plan is ESSENTIAL. Where to start though? I will get to that later. For now, jot down what you are going to have for dinner each day this week. Mine looks something like this:

Monday: Pizza Monday (this is a tradition I an starting today) We do either the Papa Murphey's $5.99 pizza deal on Mondays or we make pizza
Tuesday: Crock Pot
Wednesday: Meat Free Meal
Thursday: Husband cooks night
Friday: Date night
Saturday: Crock pot
Sunday: Family dinner

I add in the details according to 1) what I have on hand and is going to expire 2) what is on sale this week. I like to try one new meal each week to keep variety. This can be a dessert, a side or a main dish.

Get out your planners or blackberries or back of the utilities bill and jot down your menu. This reduces costs and saves time staring inside the freezer willing something to appear. Has this been helpful? Be sure to share your ideas.
